was in the hospital last week for menstrual cramps being the worse they have ever been.My family physician advised me that if they got worse than normal go to the hospital to been seen because of a past diagnosis with ovarian cysts.I went to the hospital to be seen and went he doctor finally came back she walked in and told me right away that she couldn't' do anything for me that I would have to see a gynecologist.I tried explaining to her what my primary care physican had told me to do but she didn't see interested.I told her that I do have ovarian cysts, her response was "most women have them without problems".I also told her that the cramps have lasted double of what they normally do, she then told me "Overweight women have cramps, you might just want to loose weight".Do I have a malpractice case or was she doing her job properly?
The only thing they did for me was give me something for the nausea that was due to the severe cramps. Give me a bag of saline.
This was also 2 months after I ended up int he hospital because of my cramps and vomiting myself into an irregular heart rhythm. They canceled my tests that time because the cramps had stopped by the time they were going to do it.

No you do not have a malpractice suit. The Dr was correct if you are overweight what is the point of seeking medical care?It is a bit like a smokers going to Hospital because they cannot breath, after 20 years of smoking 100 cigars a day. However you might want to try evening primrose oil, I take it as prescribed by my GP for PMS.I had a lump removed from my breast and was told 'It is Firocystic Breast Disease, nothing we can do for you, take two aspirins every month'.However I saw another Doctor who suggested I try evening primrose oil and no more PMS, it is lovely.Best of Luck
